According to figures derived from statistics compiled and published by the Argentine Air Navigation Agency (EANA) of the Ministry of Transport, in 2017,12.98 million passengers flew within the country and 14.74 million on international flights; there were 27 million people in total, a figure that is 15% higher than that recorded between January and December 2016. People who flew only in cabotage also increased by 15% while international growth was 14%.

Two months after the start of the route, it was announced that the airline will daily connect Mendoza province with Central America, the Caribbean and North America through the Hub of the Americas in Panama. Mendoza is the fourth Copa Airlines route in Argentina, together with Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Rosario.

In a survey carried out by Infraero, the International Airport of Foz do Iguaçu registered the highest percentage of passengers in the past year in relation to 2016. The number of shipments and landings at the terminal grew 17.64%, being greater than the registrations of 30 airports in Brazil.

The Lufthansa Group carried 130 million passengers in 2017,18.6% more than the 109.6 million passengers it had carried in 2016. During the year, 1,130,008 flights were made.
Luis Monreal, Managing Director of Lufthansa Argentina, reported that during 2017 the Lufthansa Group carried 130 million passengers, 20.4 million more passengers than its airlines had used in 2016.
The figure does not only imply a significant 18.6% growth between one year and the next, but it is also an historic record for the Group in terms of passengers transported.

Much more if we compare the forecasts that the Group faced in 2017 and now 2018. Last year the company had estimated a growth of only 1% in global traffic. For this year the estimated traffic growth in all destinations would be between 5% and 7%. This year's projections for international passengers show an increase of between 6% and 8%, higher than the 4% projected for 2017. Brazil's passenger growth would also be between 6% and 8% and for Spanish-speaking countries between 5% and 7%. One thing to keep in mind is that last year there was no growth forecast in the latter market. In terms of profitability, the airline expects to increase its operating margin globally by between 7.5% and 9.5% this year, compared to 6% and 8% last year.
