VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s official tourism marketing corporation, serves as Florida’s official source for travel planning for visitors across the globe. As the Sunshine State’s No. 1 industry, tourism was responsible for welcoming 116.5 million visitors in 2017. Florida has a variety of immaculate golf courses, 1,328 kilometers (825 miles) of beautiful beaches, world famous attractions, theme parks, world class accommodations and diverse dining, shopping and entertainment establishments throughout the state.
VISIT FLORIDA facilitates tourism industry participation in domestic and international travel trade and consumer shows, as well as media missions to the top global visitor markets. VISIT FLORIDA also works closely with travel agents, tour operators, meeting and event planners, and is responsible for operating Florida's five Official Welcome Centers. VISIT FLORIDA serves more than 12,000 tourism industry businesses, including major strategic alliance partnerships with Busch Gardens Tampa, Disney Destinations, The Hertz Corporation, LEGOLAND Florida Resort, SeaWorld Parks & Resorts Orlando, Simon Shopping Destinations and Universal Orlando Resort.
Florida is accessible to travelers around the globe with 15 international airports.
Latin American travelers bolster Florida’s tourism industry annually. Visitors from South America account for 24 percent – the second largest regional group of visitors – to the state of Florida. Likewise, Caribbean, Central American and Mexican visitors make up the fifth, sixth and seventh largest groups, respectively, of travelers to the Sunshine State.
